Ghislaine VANDERPERT was born in Normandy and undertook her artistic career as early as 1981. She lived for approximately fifteen years in Provence before returning to Normandy and thereby restoring to the region the guaranteed value of her beautiful and well-executed paintings that are rooted in tradition.

The artist made a name for herself through attending the Ecole des Beaux-Arts of Rouen, her first exhibitions in Rouen and its surrounding area, and later throughout France and abroad. She is known for the charm of her realism which, as the years have gone by, has improved and been emphasized by a stylish use of trompe l’oeil. The effect is surprising in its originality, which is hardly usual and indicative of a particular gift.

As a great specialist in this technique, Ghislaine Vanderpert now combines it with perfect reproductions of objects from everyday life, and to this she adds surprisingly delicate folds of fabrics and jumbles of wrinkled lace, within a warm and familiar setting.

And we must not forget her dexterity with symbols and the expression of a pleasant humour, while reflections shimmer, and delicate or faded shadows of reassuring dust hover. This is captured in a style where priority is given to pure colours, and in an atmosphere of quiet and humanity. The apparent simplicity, play of perspectives and whole decorum express nothing but pleasure and admiration for this high achieving artist who is warm-hearted, faithful to her art and profoundly humanitarian.
